Project Overview:
Garlock Sealing Technologies is a global supplier of high-performance sealing solutions. At its
manufacturing facilities in Rochester, NY, the company produces components that require an especially
high-temperature curing process. The air-handling system for this process must provide blower performance at an
extremely high static pressure load of 58.94-inches water column. It must also be built to handle a temperature
rise of 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
Because of the extreme operating conditions, AbsolutAire used floating construction on the system
interior to allow for the substantial expansion and contraction the unit would undergo with such high process
temperatures and static pressures. Extra thermal breaks and insulation were also added to protect operating
personnel from potential burns caused by high exterior surface temperatures. Two custom-designed S-Series systems,
with steam heating and a high-pressure blower, were installed at Garlock
